Last week I had the privilege to see the presentation by Michael Gross, of the Orlando Performing arts center (OPAC).

Below are a few cliff notes from his presentation:

9 acre site enclosing: Orange, Magnolia, Anderson, Rosalind, and South.

Total Cost:  408 Million+

Goal: completion October - 2012

Goal:  200+ condo/hotel project

The worlds best in Theatre design are hired to complete.

Magnolia Ave will become mostly a pedestrian zone.

OPAC will hold over 4,800 people

Goal: over 600 events per year with over 600,000 people coming through the doors a year

Goal:  known as a boutique convention center, pulling folks to the downtown area.

No extra parking will be created for OPAC, thought is: there is enough parking downtown.
