In case you've missed all of the promotion on the local TV networks, tonight at 7:59 p.m., Central Florida's major broadcast networks will turn off their analog signals in a one-minute test of digital broadcasting.
If you are unsure if your analog TV will be ready for the Feb. 17, 2009 digital TV transition, this is a good way to find out. If your screen goes out during the test, you are not ready.
If your screen goes black, you have three options:
- Buy one of the government subsidized converter boxes
- Subscribe to cable or satellite TV
- Buy a new TV with a digital tuner
Here are the local stations that are participating in the test:
WESH-Channel 2, WKMG-Channel 6, WFTV-Channel 9, WCEU-Channel 15, WKCF-Channel 18, WVEN-Channel 26, WRDQ-Channel 27, WOTV-Channel 43, WTGL-Channel 45, and WOPX-Channel 56.
